Obtains a maximum size of 8 cm (3.1 in) TL.

Distribution: Western Pacific: there are two separate populations: 1) inhabits the South China and Java seas and 2) is known from eastern Queensland and the vicinity of Daru Island off southern Papua New Guinea. Reef-Associated at depths of 3 - 12 m (9.8 - 39.4 ft).
